"Chiiiiiiiicken."
Managing Editor, Canada

It’s been a long and challenging year for Canadians, but these viral videos from 2020 prove that there were still plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

Including everything from the hilarious Family Feud Canada chicken mishap, to Justin Trudeau's hair flip and the iconic "speaking moistly" quote, here's a look back at some of our highlights:

"Chiiiiiiicken"

It’s hard to believe this moment aired in 2020, but it did. This Family Feud Canada response might just be one of the best wrong answers in the show’s history — and it went viral for that very reason!

Winter Driving

If there was a video that summarized winter driving in Canada, this is it. This brilliant TikTok went viral in October and the commentary alongside the clips will have you in hysterics.

Jagmeet Singh's "Dreams"

You can always rely on NDP leader Jagmeet Singh to hop on a TikTok trend. This year, he posted a video showing him skating through a neighbourhood while lip-syncing "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac.

Downtown Canada

After tweeting a photo of Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square with the caption “Downtown Canada wanna be Times Square so bad,” one unsuspecting American ended up going very, very viral. Eek!

Dive Bomber Dave

Summer 2020 was the perfect season for Dive Bomber Dave — Toronto’s infamous red-winged blackbird. He’s now got over a quarter of a million TikTok followers with over 4 million likes. Pretty impressive, eh?

Speaking Moistly

Perhaps Canada's most iconic moment of the year, this mishap probably had the prime minister cringing for weeks. Despite the instant regrets he clearly had, the catchy tune that followed must surely be one of 2020's finest.

No Pants Fridays

Ottawa's top doctor admitted she was probably in need of a break in September 2020, when she revealed in a now-viral tweet that she'd arrived at City Hall with no skirt on. Yikes!

Honk For Tiger King

An Ontario pub sign did the rounds on the internet back in April this year, after it created a poster that looked like it was designed by Joe Exotic himself!

Mask Techniques

Two of Canada’s politicians made waves in December after putting their masks on (publicly) in literally the weirdest ways possible.

The Hair Flip

It seems “speaking moistly” wasn’t enough for Trudeau this year, as this hair flip moment also almost broke the internet. The iconic moment occurred after the PM was unable to get a haircut due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Tika The Iggy

Montreal’s most fashionable dog took the internet by storm towards the end of this year when sharing this painfully relatable video about her 2020 clothing choices. We feel ya, Tika!
