Spring is officially here, and getaways around the province are calling your name. One Alberta city, just over two hours away from Calgary, has been ranked among the top spots to do just that this season.

Airbnb released its 2025 spring travel trends for Canadians and broke down the top trending domestic destinations, from little coastal towns to bustling cities. Lethbridge, Alberta, was put under the spotlight and placed on the list.

The city may be small, but it's gaining some attention thanks to its quaint feel, outdoor fun, and stunning scenery. The city's tourism website calls it a "UNESCO World Heritage hub" thanks to its proximity to four sites — which are all a day trip away.

Staying in the city means exploring the local shops, boutiques, and picturesque downtown — but also looking outward.

The first UNESCO World Heritage Site is Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, where you'll find a landscape like none other. "Writing-on-Stone is one of Canada's most unique UNESCO Heritage Sites because of its incredible landscapes and spiritual significance to the Blackfoot and Indigenous peoples," Tourism Lethbridge said.

You can wander among the hoodoos or go on a hiking tour to learn more about the area.

Next, you have the stunning Waterton Lakes National Park, which has a little bit of everything: prairie flatlands, mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, thick forest, and even a red rock canyon.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is another must-see spot full of natural wonders, just 45 minutes from the city. The museum here offers an exhibits and programs where you can learn more about the Plains Buffalo culture.

Finally, there is the legendary Dinosaur Provincial Park, where some of the world's best-preserved dinosaur fossil beds are located.

All in all, this place is the ideal balance of city life, within reach of some of the most incredible nature.
