This smashed the previous record, which was set just days earlier. 😳
Managing Editor, Canada

As cases of COVID-19 in Canada continue to be diagnosed, the country has broken another daily case-count record.

According to a new report from CTV News, Canada topped 4,000 new cases on Saturday for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

This broke the previous record of 3,922 new cases within 24 hours, which was set just two days earlier.

The report also explains that there have been nine days with more than 3,000 new cases reported so far, all of which have been within the past ten days.

It’s not the only record the country has broken recently, either.

According to government data, Canada’s total number of COVID-19 cases has now topped a quarter of a million.

Similar spikes are also being recorded in other countries, including the United States.

Just one day after the American election, the country recorded 103,000 new cases of the illness within 24 hours.
