Melania Trump has spoken about the U.S. election on Twitter for the first time since her husband reportedly lost.

However, she isn’t sharing well-wishes with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Instead, the soon-to-be-former first lady took to Twitter on November 8 to share a pretty vague message about America's democracy.

“The American people deserve fair elections,” she began.

“Every legal - not illegal - vote should be counted. We must protect our democracy with complete transparency,” continued Mrs. Trump.

Melania’s tweet comes as her husband continues to reject reports that Biden has won the election, claiming that it was “stolen” from him due to fraud.

Despite victory speeches from both Biden and Harris, Trump tweeted that he had won the election and claimed that “bad things happened” when ballots were being counted.

Several of Trump’s latest tweets have been flagged by social media sites as being misleading.

According to the Associated Press, he has not presented any evidence to show the election was fraudulent or illegal.

In a new Saturday Night Live sketch, Jim Carrey (dressed as Joe Biden) poked fun at Trump’s apparent refusal to accept defeat.
