As of December 15, Levitts Foods (Canada) Inc. has recalled some deli meat products due to possible listeria contamination. The products listed are sold at Sobeys and FreshCo grocery stores.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the items have been distributed in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and possibly across the entire country.

The products include Compliments brand Montreal-Style Smoked Meat, Levitts brand Corned Beef and Levitts brand New York Style Pastrami.

Each of the three deli meat products had the code "BEST BEFORE 2021JA20 EST 48."

The CFIA advises anyone who thinks they got sick from eating the meat to call their doctor.

Apparently, products with this certain type of contamination may not look or smell spoiled, but they can still make you sick.

"Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness," the recall explains.
