Dr. Theresa Tam She said that we're all contributing to helping out the healthcare system when we work to suppress COVID-19 activity and that can help with vaccine rollout. Also slowing the spread will "give COVID-19 vaccines a longer runway to begin to work" as more doses are delivered and as more Canadians get vaccinated. Dr. Tam said that Canada is in "the tough part of the marathon" but it'll be "easier" together. Also, Trudeau has said anyone who wants a vaccine will get one by September despite delays. Recently Dr. Tam noted that COVID-19 variants may already be spreading in the country through community transmission. Canada has extended travel restrictions on non-U.S. international travel until February 21.
