When it comes to vaccines in Canada, the country’s leading officials want Canadians to know they are safe.

A new video, shared by several top federal politicians, aims to show just how safe they actually are, by displaying the “incredible journey” that vaccines go on before, and after, they get approved.

Sharing the clip on January 10, Canada’s Minister of Health Patty Hajdu wrote, “Vaccines are among the most effective ways to prevent infection and illness. They work, and they’re safe.”

The video, which is almost two minutes long, shows how vaccines begin with “careful research,” and are considered from every possible angle.

It goes on to explain how this research evolves into testing and retesting, with the involvement of thousands of volunteers.

It says that even after a vaccine has been proven to be both effective and safe, it doesn’t stop there.

“For as long as it is used in Canada, quality and safety are checked and rechecked,” reads a message from the video.

When it comes to COVID-19 vaccines specifically, Health Canada has approved options from both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.

The country aims to have secured enough COVID-19 vaccines for everybody to be vaccinated by the end of 2021.

Back in December, Justin Trudeau also used a video shared via Twitter to show how COVID-19 continues to spread.
