If you're looking for a new career, opportunity awaits. Amazon has just announced that it will be hiring 500 new positions in Toronto.

Amazon has leased five floors of a sprawling office tower on York Street to accommodate the new positions.

Amazon jobs to come in Toronto

The new positions include software development engineers, user experience designers, sales and marketing staff, and more, according to the company's news release.

In Vancouver, the company is set to hire 3,500 employees to work out of a gigantic 680,000-square-foot space.

Mayor John Tory spoke on the new announcement.

"Today's announcement by Amazon is good news for Toronto and a sign of continued confidence in our city and our tech sector," he said.

"I want to thank Amazon for locating 500 new jobs at their Canadian Tech Hub in Toronto."

The announcement comes just two weeks after Amazon announced it would be bringing thousands of jobs to Ontario at two new hubs.

Full-time employees at Amazon receive all kinds of perks, including medical benefits and performance-based bonuses.
