Peel Regional Police are investigating a Mississauga motorcycle hit-and-run that occured late Monday evening. The man who was struck tragically lost his leg after being transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The motorcyclist initially fled the scene of the incident, according to police, but was brought back into custody soon afterwards. The victim was a man in his 20s, according to CP24.

The man lost his leg as a result of the collision.

Police say that officers were called to the area of Dundas Street West and Erindale Station Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday night.

Charges are pending at the moment, as the motorcyclist is currently still in hospital. Narcity reached out to Peel Police for an update on his condition.

The intersection at Dundas and Erindale was closed for investigation last night, but has since reopened.
