It seems to have been quite the busy week for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) who have reported several horrific crashes across Ontario highways over the last few days, many of them involving transport trucks.

From Highway 401 to the QEW and Highway 115, three crashes, in particular, resulted in some absolutely catastrophic results and, in one case, some very serious injuries.

The most recent crash happened Thursday morning between Hamilton and Niagara Falls on the QEW at Casablanca Boulevard.

OPP said an SUV crashed into the back of a transport truck and then rolled into a ditch, leaving the front, back, and roof of a Range Rover smashed in and debris scattered all over the place.

In this case, police said non-life-threatening injuries were reported.

OPP is also investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Thursday's collision was the mirror image of one on Highway 401 at Leslie Street early Wednesday, which also involved a transport truck.

The crash just north of Toronto saw a transport crash into the back of another car as traffic was slowing down for construction up ahead. The vehicle was pushed into the guardrail.

OPP said three men inside the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

There is no word if the transport truck driver may be facing charges.

Finally, the third crash involving a transport truck on an Ontario highway this week happened on Wednesday evening.

OPP said a truck carrying a load of lumber became jack-knifed and rolled over, resulting in another transport truck and a car crashing into it.

Thankfully in this case, no injuries were reported, but it left quite a disaster of debris scattered across the live lanes of the highway.
