In the Canadian Prairies, locals will have to endure wind chill values as low as -50 C.

While it's already been a frigid week, the polar vortex is predicted to stick around over the weekend and finally subside on Monday.

In B.C., there are also winter storm warnings that could bring as much as 25 centimetres of snow to some areas and make travel especially difficult.

In some parts of Ontario, "the extreme cold will likely continue into the weekend with wind chill values near minus 40 occurring each night."

It looks like Canadians have got a few more difficult days ahead of them.

This type of cold can be very dangerous, so it's important to bundle up and avoid going outside or travelling when possible.
