This conservation area near Toronto has an enchanting swing bridge over a waterfall

With the weather warming up, it's the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy some spring sunshine. There are many beautiful hiking trails and conservation areas around Toronto where you can stroll through stunning scenery and breathe in some fresh air.

This conservation area near the city is home to an enchanting waterfall and you can walk right across the cascade on a swing bridge.

The destination just reopened for the season on April 27, 2024 and it's a magical spot to spend a morning or afternoon.

Located about an hour away from Toronto, the conservation features several trails and more to explore.

Belfountain Conservation Area in Caledon is a great spot for a spring hike.

Boasting limestone cliffs, historical features and riverside boardwalks, you can spend some time getting lost in nature.

The main draw of the area is the suspension bridge, which takes you right across a flowing waterfall. You can enjoy stunning views of the cascade as you cross the bridge.

The waterfall can be reached by following the Gorge Trail or Accessible Paths from the parking lot. The Gorge Trail is rated as difficult and takes you by a "steep river valley and through Niagara Escarpment outcrops," according to the website.

You can also check out the "iconic 'belle' fountain" and The Fox Folly statue while visiting.

It's a good idea to make a reservation online in advance so you can secure your spot.
