You Can Finally Visit These 11 Spots In Prince Edward County This June

As Ontario is set to move into step one of its reopening plan on Friday, tons of hotels, restaurants and attractions are welcoming guests again across the province, including those in Prince Edward County.

Named the best vacation spot in Ontario and the sixth-best in Canada for 2021, the county's wineries, bed and breakfasts and eateries will be reopening their doors this month, meaning you can finally start hitting them up.

Here are some of the spots that are set to reopen in Prince Edward County this June.

Prince Edward County Lavender

Price: Cost of entry is $8 per adult

When: Reopening June 14

Address: 732 Closson Rd., Hillier, ON

Why you need to go: You can walk through the farm's Instagram-worthy lavender fields and even try lavender chocolate from the boutique. If you feel like hanging around, the lavender farm also has a bed and breakfast, which the owner says is planning to reopen on July 1.

The Drake Devonshire

When: Reopening June 11

Address: 24 Wharf St., Wellington, ON

Why you need to go: The Drake has super cozy rooms perfect for a weekend getaway and also offers amenities like outdoor yoga, bike rentals, picnics, lakeside dining and art installations, which will all be available to guests as of June 11.

Why you need to go: This dreamy motel looks like it's straight out of Palm Springs and will definitely give you retro vibes. The motel has special offerings for its opening, including DIY picnics, yoga, self-care packages, special in-room experiences and more. As of Friday, June 11, you'll also be able to dine at the Lobby Bar patio and enjoy nightly campfires during your stay.

Lake on the Mountain Resort

When: Open now; Inn restaurant reopening June 11; Miller House reopening June 12

Address: 264 County Rd. 7, Prince Edward County, ON

Why you need to go: This cute resort 62 metres above Lake Ontario has tons of charming cottages and suites available to rent. It gets its name from the Lake on the Mountain, a tranquil, mysterious lake that has a constant flow of clean, fresh water despite not having a visible water source. The resort's restaurants, the Inn and the Miller House, are reopening June 11 and 12, respectively, for walk-ins.

Mustang Drive-in

When: Reopening June 24

Address: 1521 Prince Edward County Rd. 1, Bloomfield, ON

Why you need to go: The old-school drive-in is the perfect place to go if you're missing the movie theatre experience. The Mustang Drive-In told Narcity it will be showing retro films like Top Gun and Footloose for the opening weekend, and will also be featuring a "Trunk Show," where you can shop antiques and oddities, through the summer. If you want to go, you can buy tickets online now before the opening weekend.

Sandbanks Winery

Price: $10 for a flight of five wines

When: Reopening June 11

Address: 17598 Loyalist Pky., Wellington, ON

Why you need to go: You can taste several varieties of wine at this charming vineyard in the heart of wine country and even snap a cute pic among the vines. The winery says it will be reopening on June 11 for outdoor wine tastings on a first-come-first-serve basis this weekend for groups of four people or less.

Why you need to go: The blue water surrounding this stunning motel will make you feel like you've left Ontario for the Caribbean. Situated on Lake Ontario, the Lakeside has a gorgeous pool and deck and bar area, which the motel tells Narcity will be reopening on June 11. The rooms here are unlike those in typical hotels; in addition to more traditional rooms, the Lakeside offers "glamping" tents complete with your own private fire pit and shipping container bungalows that come with a "loaded kitchen."

Why you need to go: This picturesque boutique inn in downtown Picton is the perfect place to relax. You'll find a stunning pool here, along with tons of amenities like a butler's pantry that's stocked with snacks. You'll be able to use the pool and dine outdoors during your stay at the Manse starting this Friday, June 11.

Why you need to go: Both the setting and the food are picture-perfect at this restaurant in Bloomfield, which has a busy-city-vibe to it. Guests will be welcomed back on a first-come-first-serve basis with last seating at 8 p.m. once the restaurant reopens, but only four people will be allowed to dine at each table.

When: Reopening for outdoor dining on June 11

Address: 166 Picton Main St., Picton, ON

Why you need to go: You'll feel like you're eating at a '50s diner at this Picton restaurant, which has full drive-in service where you can be served right in your car. If that's not your thing though, don't worry; you and three friends can dine on the Vic's outdoor patio starting on June 11.

When: Open now; outdoor table service begins June 18

Address: 275 Bloomfield Main St., Bloomfield, ON

Why you need to go: Currently offering takeaway, the restaurant says diners will be welcome to use their patio this weekend but that outdoor dining service will resume on Friday, June 18, with four people allowed per table. Go for the underground, locals-only vibe of the restaurant — it's said to be the only underground restaurant in all of Prince Edward County — and stay for mouth-watering menu items like the Green Chili Cheeseburger and Beef Birria Crunchwrap.
