Northrup Falls Trail in Jamestown, Tennessee is about 1.3 miles round trip and rated easy to moderate. You're more than welcome to bring your furry friend, but remember to keep them on a leash.
It's completely free to visit, which makes this spot even better than it already is. All you need to bring is some snacks and maybe a bathing suit and you'll be all set.
The hike will lead through an oak-hickory forest that might throw you for a loop, but trust the trail and follow through and you'll be lead to the right spot.
Following the trail, it'll take you to the bottom of a 70-foot waterfall that plunges into a turquoise pool that you'll want to dip your feet in.
Once you make it through the forest, the sound of the waterfall will be present and you'll even get a little sneak peek of it before you make it to the bottom.
The 70-foot free-falling waterfall will make your jaw drop and you'll stare at it in awe. There are many large boulders you can hop across to get to the perfect spot to view the falls.
You can even take the trail around the back of the waterfall and hang out there as well. It makes for great pictures and is the perfect way to cool off.
