No matter how nice that water might seem, authorities are telling you to step away from the shores of Sunset Beach in Vancouver for now.

In a tweet by the Vancouver Park Board on Saturday, August 8, they announced they'd detected high E. Coli levels in the waters of Sunset Beach near English Bay.

Sunset Beach is closed for swimming and wading due to E. coli in the water.

"There is always a risk of harmful contaminants and anyone can become ill from swimming in open water," the board wrote on their website.

During the swimming season, Vancouver's beaches are monitored every week to make sure it's safe to swim.
