Andre De Grasse Is Canada's 2nd Most Decorated Olympian & Is Close To The All-Time Record

He's just one medal away from the record that was set this summer!

Senior Writer

After winning multiple medals at the Tokyo Olympics, Andre De Grasse is now tied for the honour of being the second-most decorated Canadian Olympian in history and he's one podium finish away from reaching the country's all-time record.

De Grasse will be taking home three medals from the Tokyo Games. He won two bronzes in the men's 100-metre dash and men's 4x100-metre relay along with gold in the men's 200-metre race.

With the three podium finishes in Tokyo, De Grasse has now won six Olympic medals in his career, which makes him Canada's most decorated male Olympian and one of the country's most decorated Olympians of all time, tied with Cindy Klassen and Clara Hughes.

He's only one medal away from the all-time Canadian record of seven medals, which was set in Tokyo this year by Penny Oleksiak.

According to Team Canada, De Grasse has never missed the podium in any of his events at the Olympics. During the Rio Games in 2016, he also won bronze in the men's 100-metre race and men's 4x100-metre relay but only managed to secure silver in the men's 200-metre final.
