Cases of COVID-19 in Canada are lower than what's being reported in other countries but there are still "challenges" that are ahead of us. The Public Health Agency of Canada released new data and modelling on January 15, which includes information about reported cases per 1 million people in a bunch of countries. Ireland, the U.K. and the U.S. are the highest on the graph with an average of between 600 and 1,200 cases per million. The Public Health Agency of Canada noted that quick, strong and sustained measures are needed to stop the spread and control COVID-19. In a press conference about the new data, Dr. Theresa Tam said the "experiences of other countries also show us the challenges that still lie ahead." She recently said that Canada is on an "ever-worsening trajectory" when it comes to the pandemic.
