The 45-minute experience is a mix between an escape room and a haunted house, so guests can get the full scare experience while safely distancing. View this post on Instagram Took this picture during our escape maze treasure hunt at south monaghan, Peterborough. First of all , I'd like to thank @donotcloudmyvision for inviting me to this trip. She drove the whole 700 km , walked around 8 km for the treasure hunt, attended a conference call training (during the drive back)all while she was suffering from a back pain. Apart from all these she also had job at 7 in the morning the next day. We started our journey at 11 in the morning. Reached Peterborough at 3. We were actually helping our friend who recently moved to Peterborough to move her stuffs from Ottawa. We dropped everything off and had lunch from her place and planned to spent the rest of the evening exploring the town. Our first plan was to go to the Riverview park zoo. But unfortunately the closing time of the zoo was a bit early than we expected. So we ended up going to this place in otanabee which had lot of great reviews on Google, it was called escape maze. Its just 10 km from the city centre . When we reached we were invited by a guy named fred. He was wearing a traditional american outfit which sort of reminded me Clint Eastwood from Good bad and ugly . When we said we are visiting from ottawa he was really excited, he explained everything about the whole place in a single breath* (*metaphor 😂). They had 4 outdoor adventure game and 3 escape rooms including a haunted one in the basement which was really famous.but apparently both of us were not that much fascinated by the idea of spending a beautiful evening inside a building. So we chose the gold rush trail treasure hunt from their 4 outdoor adventure games. It was already 5 and the sunset was at 6.20, and according to them the hunt lasts around 2 to 3 hours. But we decided to take our chances. Theres a short video to watch before you start the hunt. From the video we understood that the game was based on an actual treasure hunt happened in otanabee during 40s. The whole experience was just amazing. The trial is so big & the tasks are really fun and exciting. We finished the hunt within 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was a great experience.
