High E. Coli Levels Closed Vancouver's Sunset Beach To Swimmers This Weekend
Too much bacteria to swim.
No matter how nice that water might seem, authorities are telling you to step away from the shores offor now.
In a tweet by the Vancouver Park Board on Saturday, August 8, they announced they'd detected high E. Coli levels in the waters of Sunset Beach near English Bay.
Sunset Beach is closed for swimming and wading due to E. coli in the water.

"There is always a risk of harmful contaminants and anyone can become ill from swimming in open water," the board wrote on their website.
During the swimming season, Vancouver's beaches are monitored every week to make sure it's safe to swim.
Just because you shouldn't take a dip doesn't mean the beach itself is closed, however — you can still go enjoy the sun, just steer clear of the water.
