Police are on high alert ahead of another massive car rally in Wasaga Beach taking place this weekend.

The Town of Wasaga Beach released a statement saying that the gathering "will be met with strict enforcement."

Visitors and locals will see a much larger police presence in the town this weekend.

Dangerous and exhibition-type driving will not be tolerated in Wasaga Beach.

This news comes less than one week after a huge impromptu car show took over a Cineplex parking lot in Ancaster, to which over 500 cars showed up.

OPP expect up to 1,000 people to show up at this weekend's rally, according to CTV's Siobahn Morris.

“Based on information the town is aware of, this pop-up event is unacceptable for a number of reasons," says Bifolchi.

Police have added also speed bumps to roads and parking lots in Wasaga to deter reckless driving.
