If you've ever wanted to step inside a Hallmark movie, this cozy Christmas tree farm near Ottawa has got you covered. This spot has been featured in multiple Hallmark holiday films, and once you've seen it, it's not hard to see why!

Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm, just 45 minutes from Ottawa, has been featured in four Hallmark movies: Christmas Scavenger Hunt, Christmas Festival of Ice, The Rooftop Christmas Tree, and A Cheerful Christmas.

Nestled in the Ottawa Valley, this farm has all the charm you'd expect from a spot that's been featured in festive films: endless rows of Christmas trees, a cozy wooden cabin, and picturesque rolling hills.

It's been around since the 1820s and has evolved from a lumber operation to a farm growing Christmas trees, which have been a specialty here since 1988. In fact, Cedar Hill was even voted Ottawa's Best Winter Attraction in 2023.

When you arrive, you can hop on a free tractor-pulled wagon ride that'll take you out to the tree fields, where you can choose and cut your own tree (handsaws provided).

There are various trees, including Fraser, Balsam, and Blue Spruce, along with some pre-cut options if you're not up for sawing one down yourself.

If you're not ready to decorate for the holidays just yet (tree sales begin on November 16), there are warming campfires to sit around, a cute Christmas shop stuffed with ornaments, wreaths, plushies and gifts, and a play area for kids.

There are also photo opportunities all around the farm, so you can snap a perfect winter pic among the snow-covered trees, beside the giant wooden cabin, alongside a vintage vehicle, on the rustic bridge beside the water, or somewhere else!

Santa will also visit on select weekends (November 23, 24, 30, and December 1, 7, and 8), and classic Santa photos will be available between 12 and 2 p.m. each day.

At the weekend, the farm's Candycane Kitchen kicks it up a notch with comfort food like pulled pork, chilli, and grilled cheese (all for under $5!), as well as hot chocolate and hot cider that'll warm you from the inside out.

Admission is free and you're welcome to visit without purchasing a tree. The farm is also pet-friendly, so you can bring your pup along for pictures (just keep them on a leash).

Starting November 12, the farm is open every day until Christmas Eve.

Opening hours vary depending on the day: Saturdays and Sundays are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays are a bit later, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Christmas tree sales start on November 16 and run until 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Cedar Hill recommends visiting on weekday evenings for a quieter visit. The farm is busiest on the last weekend of November and the first two weekends of December.

It's only about a 45-minute drive from Ottawa, so grab your coziest scarf and your dog and head out for a holiday experience that's literally straight out of the movies!
