The Sunwing Party Plane Guy Says His Event Was 'A Success' & Is Planning Another In March

"Come to the next events, you’ll see how nice it is." 🙄

Senior Writer

The event organizer behind the controversial Sunwing party plane to Mexico has announced that he's planning another event shortly, so it seems that even the ire of Justin Trudeau isn't enough to stop him.

On Sunday, January 9, James William Awad posted two lengthy videos to the @111privateclub Instagram page where he discussed everything that's gone down in the past few days, as well as his plans for the future.

While he declared the event sparked international outrage and several mocking TikToks to be a "success," he also noted that some errors may have been made.

“We’re all young, we’re going to make mistakes," he shared in French, adding, "Nothing illegal was done."

“I support all the people who partied in the plane," Awad continued. "I’m never going to apologize for [them].”

He also spoke out about the hate that some of the influencers are receiving.

“People are mad because individuals were smoking in the flight. […] if you’re sending death threats to 189 people because one person smoked in the flight, seriously guys, you’re stupid,” he said.

The federal government has launched an official investigation into what happened with the partiers aboard the flight and those involved could be slapped with some serious fines and even jail time if found guilty.

Perhaps to capitalize on this "success," Awad said that the next on-ground, non-travel event would be in March for his birthday after allowing some time to "let things calm down a little bit."

“Come to the next events, you’ll see how nice it is," he said. "Everyone respects each other. It’s better than a club.”

The details of the event have not yet been revealed, but the private club did recently announce that they're accepting new members in February, with video interviews as a strict requirement.
