Toronto Restarts Weekend GO Trains To Niagara Just In Time For The Long Weekend

It might be time to start planning a day trip. Metrolinx is getting some popular train routes back next month, just in time for the long weekend. Starting August 1, GO trains from Toronto to Niagara Falls will be resuming service on Saturdays and Sundays, including the Monday holiday.

If you want to go visit a winery or just hang out near the Falls, you can once again hop on a GO Train to get there.

According to Metrolinx, there will be four departure times for passengers to choose from when travelling between Toronto and Niagara Falls. 

Purchasing a roundtrip will cost you $30 a person with their Go-Niagara Parks travel package. The package comes with some other perks for you to enjoy when you arrive. 

For example, it provides you with a WEGO bus pass, which will help you navigate the city and Niagara Parks attractions.

From the train station, you can hop right on the WEGO buses and get on or off as you please for two days.

If you're going as a group, you can grab a $65 pass which will cover two adults and three kids. 

The trains depart from Union Station in Toronto and make stops at Exhibition, Port Credit, Oakville, Burlington, Aldershot, St. Catherines and Niagara Falls, according to GO Transit.

The first train from Toronto leaves at 8:51 a.m. from Union Station and arrives at 10:53 a.m., according to their schedule. 

Other departure times are at 12:51 p.m., 4:51 p.m., and 8:51 p.m.

Before you head out to the station, remember to check up on the latest requirements onboard. 

Masks are encouraged and there have been tons of new sanitation measures in effect.

They have even installed plastic barriers between seats to stop the spread of germs.

If you're a bike enthusiast, you can also bring your wheels along. 

There are multiple bike tours in the area where you can cycle along the vineyards while sipping on wine.
