If you need to fill your tank, definitely hit up your go-to station on Wednesday because Ontario gas prices are set to rise on Thursday.

Dan McTeague, gas price analyst and president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, took to Twitter to warn drivers of an incoming increase of 1 cent per litre for most areas on Thursday.

Areas that will see this hike include Toronto, Oakville, Oshawa and the Niagara region, seeing prices leap to 158.9 cents per litre, according to Gas Wizard.

However, while most major Ontario cities will only see a 1-cent spike, some areas will see a larger increase.

For example, London and Kingston will see prices shoot up by 2 cents, with gas also reaching 158.9 cents per litre.

On the other hand, residents of Sudbury will see a whopping total of 170.9 cents per litre after a 4 cent hike in price for Thursday.

When it comes to the cheapest spot to fill up, residents will want to head to Peterborough, where gas is expected to be 155.9 cents per litre.

McTeague previously warned drivers not to fill up their tanks until February 17, expecting a "big drop" in prices. Ontario also previously broke a gas price record on January 29 after spiking to 152.9 cents per litre in the GTA.

If you're waiting for prices to drop before filling up again, it is currently unclear when that will happen.
