Apparently the prime minister is a Saturday Night Live (SNL) fan! Dan Levy hosted SNL for the first time this weekend and Justin Trudeau shared the sweetest congratulatory message with him. Taking to Twitter on Sunday, the PM thanked the Schitt’s Creek star for “making the whole country shine” during his appearance on the popular American TV show. Thanks for making the whole country shine last night, and congratulations on a job well done hosting @NBCSNL.— Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) February 7, 2021 Tagging Levy, Trudeau wrote, “When one of us shines, all of us shine - isn’t that right [Dan Levy]?” He went on, “Thanks for making the whole country shine last night, and congratulations on a job well done hosting [SNL].” The prime minister’s message came just one day after Levy made his hosting debut on the show. During his opening monologue, the Canadian star described being “honoured” by the opportunity and was particularly excited when his dad made a surprise cameo. The 37-year-old producer, director and actor starred in several skits during his show debut, including one about the “wrong way to Super Bowl” that was total COVID-19 chaos. Back in 2020, Trudeau tweeted well-wishes to the cast and crew of Schitt’s Creek when they swept the Emmys and won a record-breaking number of awards.
