Woodbine Beach Is Absolutely Packed This Weekend & Police Are Issuing Tickets

Toronto Associate Editor

This long weekend has been a busy one at Toronto's Woodbine Beach and not everyone is pleased with the aftermath.

Just as Trinity Bellwoods Park was left covered in garbage after a warm weekend, Woodbine Beach was also littered with trash after a particularly crowded day on Sunday. Photos of illegal fireworks being shot off along the shoreline have also been shared on Reddit.

Toronto Police Const. Ed Parks told Narcity that authorities had received several calls and issued tickets at the beach, but were not able to provide details about the amount and the nature of the offences.

However, 680 News learned these calls were related to large gatherings at both Woodbine and Cherry Beach, where a huge dance party took place just last weekend.

Despite the fact that outdoor recreational amenities have reopened and gathering limits have been raised to five people outside, Ontario's stay-at-home order remains in effect until June 2.
