Provincial parks in B.C. are known for their incredible hikes and natural beauty and the views only get better once you reach the mountain top.

While many B.C. parks have stunning ocean and mountain views, there are parks in Vancouver that stand out among locals, including one that's close to Vancouver's downtown.

This spot is only a 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver and the short adventure will reward you with the most scenic natural sights.

We recently asked readers to tell us what the best provincial park in B.C. is.

While Golden Ears Provincial Park took the top spot in the poll sent out on Instagram, X and YouTube, Cypress Provincial Park wasn't far behind and luckily it's even closer to the downtown core.

According to the BC Parks website, Cypress Park is bound on the west by Howe Sound and is surrounded by Mount Strachan, Hollyburn Mountain and West Vancouver.

On a clear day, you'll get views of the city, Mount Baker, the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

A popular two-kilometre hike at Cypress Park takes you to Bowen Lookout Point, which has spectacular views of the mountains, ocean and islands.

If you decide to go later in the day, you won't be disappointed by the sunset views.

There's also a more lengthy trail up to Mark's Summit at the peak of Cypress Mountain for those feeling more adventurous!

Another fun adventure located nearby on Cypress Mountain that's now open for the summer is the Eagle Coaster. This 1.7-kilometre ride is Canada's fastest mountain coaster.

Aside from hiking, you can also camp at Cypress Park and in the winter it's a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing.

So no matter what time of the year you decide to venture to this B.C. park, you won't be disappointed by the adventurous day you'll have once you're there!
