Canadian Tire Was Just Ranked As Canada's 'Most Respected' Big Store Brand & Here's Why

Costco Canada also ranked highly, but Walmart was near the bottom of the list.👇

A new ranking of Canada's most respected general merchandise retailers has put "national icon" Canadian Tire in the top spot.

The survey — which was shared on August 10 — asked over 3,500 Canadians to score how much respect they had for each company.*

Dart Insight and Communications

It found that Canadian Tire stores provided "high-levels of retail service across a wide-range of locations and platforms," including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of the 13 big box stores ranked, Costco, Staples and Best Buy came in second, third and fourth place respectively.

At the bottom of the list were Walmart and Scotts Discount, both scoring over 50% per the ranking's "respect score average."

Earlier this year, a selection of Canada's biggest brands were ranked on their "trustworthiness" and Canadian Tire was rated in the top ten, alongside companies like President's Choice and Costco.
