Warmer days are coming sooner than you might think, according to Ontario's spring 2021 forecast by The Weather Network.

TWN says that it'll be a warmer spring than years past in Ontario and Quebec, with some "extended tastes" of refreshing mild weather in March.

However, it seems like winter won't be going down without a fight.

The forecast predicts that some "parting shots of winter" will still make their way through, with a stretch of colder weather around mid-spring.

Plus, we could get an extra dose of April showers. Above normal rainfall is in the forecast for this spring, but the number of rainy days will be around the same. The risk of widespread flooding is also lower, says the forecast.

Overall, TWN's temperature outlook says that it will be a "near normal" spring in the province. However, "below normal" temperatures are expected in northern Ontario.

This news comes just after a pleasantly mild weekend in southern Ontario, with daytime highs of 9 C in some parts of the GTA.

Meanwhile, the Prairies are set to get "dramatically warmer" weather than they experienced in February, predicts TWN. Warmer weather will also dominate the spring season in Atlantic Canada, while B.C. experiences a slower start to spring.
