The largest tree in Canada is actually in B.C. and it's in a surreal rainforest that you have to hike through to reach it.

It's worth the three-kilometre trek though, to see this massive tree that's about 2,000 years old, according to the Ancient Forest Alliance.

The incredible tree is so big that photos can't even capture it fully. Seeing a person next to it though puts just how large it is into perspective.

This tree is located in the gorgeous Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on Vancouver Island and is an absolutely breathtaking natural wonder.

The special western red cedar tree has an extremely fitting name — the Cheewhat Giant.

The Cheewhat Giant is definitely worth a spontaneous day trip to go and visit.

Try to pick a not-so-rainy day to venture out into the lush forest and find this tree for a tree-hugging photo.

People look super tiny compared to the massive tree.

Dogs are welcome on the hike too, making it even more fun.

It's also worth going just to explore the stunning forest, which has many old-growth trees within it.

The tree was first discovered in 1988. It was then measured to be over 20 feet in diameter and 182 feet in height, according to the Ancient Forest Alliance.

Such a gigantic tree almost seems mythological.

Luckily, it's not a myth; the Cheewhat Giant is a real living tree that is massive.

British Columbians hit the jackpot with the lush rainforest that holds Canada's largest tree.

Thank all the rain that Vancouver Island sees for helping this tree grow to such a great height.
