Austin has many magical places to visit, but very few have water as clear as this section of shoreline on Lake Travis. You could be mad that the shore has stolen all of the crystal clear water for itself, but it's hard to stay that way after you've made the visit. Hippie Hollow is the only clothing optional park in Texas, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
There's a short walk to the shore from the parking lot, and the drive getting there is magnificent. Lake Travis is known for it's beauty, and the trip getting to Hippie Hollow just reinforces what we already knew. Once you arrive, it's only $15 per vehicle to enter, and you can split it between your friends! Clothing is absolutely mandatory until you get to the trail leading to the shore, so don't get too crazy before you actually make it to the beach.
Hippie Hollow has plenty of room along the shore to lay out and tan with your friends. It's a tad rocky, so make sure to bring some towels with you. Good walking shoes are also recommended, although you'll be throwing them aside as soon as you see the water. Tops on or off, you're in for a fantastic day of swimming and laying out!
Hippie Hollow is 18+ and IDs will be checked upon arrival! Throughout the day, if you'd like to take pictures, just make sure you have permission first. It's rather easy to get the shot of your Instagram dreams with how massive the park is, so snap away! This is a very rare opportunity in Texas and one you don't want to miss out on.
Hippie Hollow is located at 7000 Comanche Trail, Austin, TX 78732. For more information on staying overnight and the dos and don'ts of Hippie Hollow, you can visit their website to learn all of that and more.
